Why Choose Natural Stone for Your Countertops
When you choose natural stone countertops for your home, you are selecting a material that will last and remain in-demand for decades. Granite, marble, quartzite, and other types of stone transform any room and create a stunning focal point. Here are some of the many benefits of incorporating natural stone into your space.
Aesthetics
Natural stone’s broad range of colors and patterns are visually gripping and nearly impossible to replicate. Because it adds a luxurious flair, natural stone can increase the marketability and value of your home at resale. If you’re investing money in a remodel, buyers tend to focus on kitchens and bathrooms the most, and a simple upgrade to stone countertops can give you a favorable return. Find the perfect countertop for your home and budget at Stylish interiors, as our selection includes hundreds of stone types and colors like polished & leathered finishes and 2cm & 3cm thicknesses.
Durability
There aren’t many countertop options that can last longer than your home, but when maintained properly, stones like granite and travertine can deliver on this promise. They are incredibly durable, require minimal maintenance, and can withstand the spills and accidents that often accompany everyday living. Natural stone countertops can meet the demands of the busiest kitchen without showing signs of wear. Hot cups of coffee, spilled wine, and even slicing knives rarely damage granite, marble, or soapstone.
Versatility
Along with natural stone being aesthetically unique, the variety in selection allows for limitless design possibilities. We carry hundreds of options in light, dark, neutral, and bold stone colors. Also, each slab of stone is cut specifically for your counters, so you can incorporate them into any design you desire. Whether you want a kitchen island that is shaped like a T or a round vanity in your closet, Stylish Interiors can cut your slab of stone to order. With natural stone, you truly have the flexibility and versatility to design the countertops of your dreams.

Natural Stone Countertop Maintenance
Routine Care
Natural stone countertops should be cleaned with pH neutral cleaners specifically designed for stone. Acids will eventually damage many varieties of stone, even something like a light solution of vinegar and water. Be careful with common foods and drinks that contain acids that may etch or dull the stone’s surface. Even contact with certain liquids like dish soap or cleaner could create a filmy buildup and even discoloration.
Sealing
Most natural stone is porous, which means it can absorb staining agents in spilled liquids, dropped food, and other substances. To provide maximum stain protection, sealing is strongly recommended for all stone countertops, especially newly installed marble, granite, and limestone. Be aware that sealing will not eliminate staining. Any spills should be wiped off immediately to prevent stains from settling into the stone. We recommend you reapply sealers specifically made for natural stone at least once a year.
